i picked up a 2008 ly6 havent pulled it apart yet
. wanted to upgrade the pistons and rods to forged units. thought i would order pistons and rods before i did as long as cylinders look good

Most all LS engines pistons are either flush or slightly (.001-.004) ABOVE the deck.

1.340” is common compression height for LS engines with factory stroke and 6.098 rod. The confusion comes from truck blocks having a 9.23 deck height and car (aluminum) blocks having a 9.24 deck height. I bought a set of Mahle pistons with a 1.340 comp height for an LY6 and they worked great. Link below...
