wierd no start issue
running a holley dominator geniv 6.0
lifted the heads on my built motor. put in a spare 6.0 (both gen iv 58x). spare motor fired up instantly but overheated just sitting there idling. (220*). the spare motor is a SBE deal and the broke motor was a built bottom end. I WAS running pump gas when I lifted the heads. I now have e85 in the tank with the SBE. for the tune, I basically just added 30% fuel to my tune to make up for the e85. the motor started several times with no issues. each time though it overheated. never let it get above 220*. after messing with it for a day, I quit. came out the next day and it wouldn't start. the holley dash kept saying "syncing" instead of giving an RPM reading. wh I thought maybe I had messed something up in the tune when I changed the fueling. I put my buddies tune in the car who also has a SBE 6.0 on e85. crank crank crank POW. car backfired. realized real quick that I fucked up and forgot his car is 24x and mine is 58x. put my tune back in. still no start. replace cam sensor, no start, replace crank sensor, no start, pull timing cover and make sure cam and crank are dot to dot, they are, put back together, fires right up. over heats, shut it down, try and start it a hour or so later, wont start, thinking I might have an issue with the harness, I pull the dominator and harness off the car and put on a terminator x kit that I have. still no start.
I have now pulled the motor out of the car and am convinced its a motor issue. does anyone have ANY ideas? I am at a complete loss at this point.
I have attached a picture of the system log that I took and I THINK its showing that I have both crank and cam signal.
Aside from the actual technical questions I have, there’s the dreaded “air bubble in the coolant” issue that a lot of LS engines deal with upon refilling the coolant. Lots of overheating issues caused by air in the coolant.
