In pre-assembly of heads. Needing to know when my push rod lengh gage is FEEL tight before adding .050" preload on my hydraulic lifters. Should rocker still wiggle? Using checker springs with comp push rod length gage. How do I know that my checker springs aren't preloading my lifters?

You should have zero lash which means it doesn’t wiggle, however you don’t want it so tight it compresses your springs. If you are concerned about it you can mount a dial indicator and see if the spring moves although that is a bit extreme...
