Hi all, so i got this motor tore down and cyl 7 looks like this. dont know what caused it. Maybe tip of spark plug but is on the head too. so the walls have a few light scratches but cant feel them with a fingernail. I wanna do all new bearings and and rings to start. Can I just replace the one bad piston with a stock,
do a light hone and continue or is a machine shop job gonna be needed. Looking to do a budget friendly rebuild but dont wanna cut corners. Thanks all
I'm not sure I'd even mess with it, except maybe use something to possibly polish it down some, not sure I'd bother even with that.

I was thinkin it was the head of a spark plug. I got the engine for free from a buddy. it didnt have the spark plugs in it but for the bottom end thats the only thing i can see thats got me questioning re ringing after a light hone.
If there are also blemishes in the head directly above the blemishes on the piston, it could be the result of the ingestion of some sort of foreign object.
I'm not sure I'd even mess with it, except maybe use something to possibly polish it down some, not sure I'd bother even with that.
