LS3 - Using oil - Smoke on Acceleration HELP

LS3 - Using oil - Smoke on Acceleration HELP Hi Guys,
I know this topic has been discussed at length, but I hoping for some suggestions on chasing down an oil burn issue. I bought a low mileage LS3 long block from an '09 vette that came from a Chevy dealership mechanic who has since passed away. I was told that the motor was replaced under warranty due to an oil consumption issue. Shame on me for not testing the motor before installing it, but I've gotten the vehicle running, and it's using oil and produces white smoke on hard acceleration. No smoke during isle or normal running conditions.
The motor is stock. Stock LS3 intake, and I'm using a Mighty Mouse catch can. I checked the intake and there is no oil on the bottom of the intake or in the TB. I see some oil on the threads of the plugs on both sides and a few plugs on both sides are somewhat fouled after less than 1000 miles.
I realize that it's either a ring or valve seal issue. Wondering if a leak down test is the first suggested course of action by the experts on here, and/or if anyone has any related thoughts based on the description above.
