You did good to actually talk with someone at GM about anything technical. That’s usually impossible. Lots of online stores use GM in their name, and have zero relation to and with GM. GMPartsDirect, GM Parts Store are a couple of examples among many other online businesses using GM in their name. Be careful who you get info from. If you spoke directly with a technician at GM, your good. What I do know from experience here is that the LS7 rod bolt is not the same as most other LS rod bolts. It’s a smaller, hence weaker, fastener. Torque them to 35 ft bs and send it. Most all other LS rod bolts, I go 45 ft lbs with them.
The issue at hand here…and please don’t think I’m being negative…is that GM doesn’t always publish the right info. Case in point I’ll bring up is a van I bought in December of 2020, about 6 months ago. It’s a 2020 GMC Savannah 2500 with the 6 liter engine (LC8). I needed a new van for the business fleet. You can go to GM’s website and the LC8 is listed as having cathedral port heads in their breakdown of the engine, and how well the cathedral port heads help airflow. That’s all well and good except the LC8 engines have 0821 square port heads on them. Mine does and another LC8 I’ve seen does as well, so it’s not a mistake made at the plant. I said all that (which is meaningless and off topic, but hopefully will help someone out there in cyber world evaluate information and data) to say that you can’t always believe what you read, even info posted by reputable corporate companies. I love Summit Racing. Been buying from them since 93 and they are my go-to for most parts, but their tech info online isn’t always right. Again, don’t always take what you read as gospel. Experience outweighs opinion 100% of the time.
I’m not directing this at anyone, especially you C4. Just trying to keep a technical website in check.

Thanks Che70velle! Def appreciate experience.

I did call GM directly an they transferred me to a local GM Chevy dealer in my area an said Parts would be able to provide the tq #s.

So I spoke with Parts department of Bruce Lowery Chevrolet in FT Worth Tx near me an they looked up the spec in there GM computer system so if thats wrong then u just cant trust ANYTHING imo at that point!

Again there systems states ls7 connecting rod bolt first pass 15ft lbs an final pass 110 degree Angle.

I just ordered 16 new bolts an thats what mine will be carefully tightened using my digital snap on tq wrench

Again thanks all!

So as Che70velle suggested, i did follow what GM suggested with 15lb first pass an 110 degree final pass, an my snap on tq wrench after going 110 degree will give u an about foot pound read out an bolts ranged from 35-37 flbs in that range if anyone cares!

I say this because seems you could tq everything down to just 35ft lbs +or-1 an be ok.

I jusr sleep better knowing i used new bolts an what GM said to do...

Thanks
