Default Milling LS3 heads

Can you get to 62 cc chambers by milling LS3 heads? Or is that too much? Rough math days milling about 40 thousands. Would that create issues with the intake ? (Stock ls3)
Trying to find a economic way to raise compression on a forged bottom end.
(I am also taking into account a gasket swap but I am dealing with a 20 cc dish piston)

Where do you want the compression?
And why 20cc dish pistons?

pistons: I don’t want to change the short block.

Currently sitting at 9.5 to 1 with a 51 thou stock LS7 gasket, -20 cc piston, 62cc on my AFR 225s.

I can get about 1/2 point from just swapping to a cometic 30 gasket. So with the AFRs I can get to about 10.0 to 1.

I am hoping to get to a similar / better compression using LS3 heads.

You can mill them as my own Factory Ls3 heads are @ 62cc...

Believe Suicidal has went to 60cc if not lower ...

Key to the entire thing is the angle mil on the the Intake flange to Correct the alignment on the Head from the mill to get to 62 cc..

YOU can consider a angle mill also to get a lower Valve Angle without purchasing a new head...

Maybe from 15 to 14 degrees as angle milling eats up Real-i-state .

Something to think about...

Not a ls3 but i had my gmpp ls6 heads milled .090. It took some doins to get the intake on it but the port alignment was fine.

Basically drill out the bolt holes in the intake a little , counter sink the valley cover bolts and do a little grinding on the bottom of the intake is all it needs.

I'd angle mill the heads ....but angle mill takes more material from the deck and the intake flange difference would be greater but it's Doable....

something to ponder 🤔
