Anyone attempted to put 2000+ hp through a gen 4 6.0 block?

It was and still may be a consideration. Just curious if anyone had actually attempted or had successfully done it for any length of substantial time. I know an LSX or Dart block would be a optimum candidate but they’re not available. Not looking for a one hit wonder.

Default NO Powder Mains

The HP is based on RPM Max?
I would INSTALL Forged Main Caps and studs, NO TTL bolts!

My thought was fill the block to the water pump holes with hard block. Pin the main caps to keep them from walking around. Top fuel hoops on the deck and stud everything.

At some point, the block just comes apart. These are only four bolt heads, but really, if you have everything else that it requires to make 2000hp, just get a race block.

2000hp is 40-50 psi of boost, methanol, and so forth. At that point the only GM part would be the block.

You are asking in the wrong place. Go on Yellowbullet Turbo forums and there are also some other turbo specific websites out there. They are the ones pushing the limits. The most I have heard of is 1500whp from a stock block. If you are shooting for a record, you really should start w/ a 5.3 iron block. At that level, it's all cylinder wall thickness and keeping the crankshaft in the block. I have heard of 1600+ on iron 5.3's, but no idea how long they last. Tune-up is everything at that level.

BTW, to put this in perspective, you are going to have a $5000+ rotating assembly in a $150 block(5.3) or $1000 block(6.0)....

I think you’d be crazy to attempt to put this together with anything less than an big dollar aftermarket block. Call around, you’ll find one. Even a used aftermarket block would be a far better starting point than a Gen3/4/5 GM block. Your going to split the block and cost yourself a small fortune at that boost level. Shoot…I’d call ProLine and skip the entire LS adventure for power like that. Prolly cheaper in the long run after you puke the guts out of the LS enough times.

That's 2000+ whp though a stock block LY6 right?

Agreed with Jimbo, I think it would be fun to read about and you should try 😀😊.

Seriously Che70velle is on point and right on the mark.

ls motors sure are fun, but there comes a point where a big block just makes more sense. my latest project i decided to forgo the ls for a bbc.

I don't think I'd push a stock block 6.0 with a 4" stroke. Stock stroke less stress. Maybe with a sleeved block (thicker too, more stable). Setup motor to go 8800rpm with methanol and see how much it can handle.

Nigel and stock block 5.3 is somewhere around 1800+ (others can chime in)

SBE 4.8 1300+

just picked a LY6 running motor ( heads have cracks in them though) for $300.00 . looking to do a 408 with a P1X and shoot for 950/1000 . I still think that's pushing for a stock block?
