Default LS7 cam is LS3 ?

Will a cam ground for a ls7 work in a ls3 ? Obviously, multiplying lobe lift by 1.7 instead of 1.8. Will it physically work?

Sure, it'll work. But WHY would you go to the work/expense of running a such a mild cam? Plus, the LS3 doesn't need such a huge I to E split in duration, like the LS7 does......

I would pay more attention to the actual specs of a cam. ANY LS cam will work in an LS3

An ls9 is a 3 bolt ls7 cam.

A very poor choice for any na engine. No need to waste your time there. Even better boost cams out there as well.
