Looking for a cam. Please help! I have a 2007 Yukon XL 2500 with an LY6 6.0, heads. Vehicle is bone stock with a 4L80E and 4.10 gears in the rear. Tires are 31" tall. I run 91 that's ethanol-free religiously. Curb weight is 6,327 lbs. I don't pull anything currently but might in the future, just don't know.
I'm wanting to find a cam thatll get me closer to 400 HP and 400 TQ to the rear wheels, or as close as possible. My dad recommended I get a cam with higher lift and lower duration. I don't want screaming power up high in the RPMS, I want this vehicle to still function as it was intended. I also don't want to have to go with a different converter. What are my options?? Is cutting into the valve guides a MUST?
