L76 help
doing a afm delete on my l76 6.0 wondering do I just buy a “non” afm cam or is there a better option for this motor! I’m not trying to build anything crazy or spend a ton of money but I figured since I have to buy a new cam is there something better? Plan on having the heads gone thru and having a valve job done! This engine is for my daily driver Silverado and I do tow my boat quite a bit so I’m just looking for good reliability but a few extra pony’s never anything if that is something that can be achieved without having to do to much
also this engine does have the vvt is that something that you guys recommend keeping or should I delete that as well? I plan on getting a new oil pump should I get the factory “high volume” oil pump that came in this motor or should I run the standard oil pump?
I plan on doing all the other afm delete requirements like plugging off the oil pressure relief valve in the oil pan and so on.
thanks
The VVT is great, for a daily driver tow rig I would keep it personally as the last thing you wanna loose on a L76 your towing with is low end torque.
Maybe someone can chime in if there is a small "stage one" truck cam available that allows you to keep the VVT?
Keep in mind if your engine is higher mileage and swaping to a bigger camshaft I would defiantly wanna swap valve springs.
