Metal in oil

Hi everyone. Hoping someone might know why my 80k 6.0LQ4 motor just started to have metel on drain plug? Previous oil chage showed no metal 1500 miles later showing metal, never go more than 3000 on oil. Always use Mobile 1 5W-30 oil

Over-rev the motor? Overheat the motor? Spun a bearing? Are you certain of that mileage? Have you done an oil analysis? Things happen sometimes for no particular reason.

FYI- The LQ4 is a Gen III engine, not Gen IV.

How in the hell would you expect anyone to know that?
