07 CTS-V lean code I need help fast, as I may be purchasing this vehicle in a day or 2. 07 ctsv with 173k miles, headers, cold air intake, exhaust, tune. Seller says its tuned to 92 octane for top performance and you can put any gas in the vehicle. Car shows check engine light code for running too lean. Seller says its because he currently has regular gas in, but when you put premium the code will turn off. I am very new to this stuff, I need it explained to me like a 5 year old if possible. Is that how it works? I am not sure if that really is the issue of the code.

Plainly put, the octane of any gas will NOT set off a "lean code".
It does affect when it knocks, but not the A/F ratio.
Did you look up the code itself, or is that what the owner is telling you?
Put the code here in case you need help looking it up, though Google is pretty good at that.

That is just what the owner is telling me. Sent me a vid of it running and the dash has the CEL. Car sounds amazing, but I just have a hard time not having piece of mind with the CEL being on. He says he has it tuned to 92 octane and has regular in it right now, but if i put premium in itll turn off. Thats just what the seller states and he said he can show me the code on the computer.

Get all the actual code info and check it out. The owner sounds like a BS artist.
It might be a knock code from running on regular when 91 or 92 would be better for it.
Bottom line, get the actual code and look it up. Then you know.
