Ls7 lifters
Just curious what’s everyone’s thoughts on the Delphi ls7 lifters are? Are they good quality? Any issues with them compared to other brands?

Yes I understand that. Why do all the analysis after the failure? Why not verify origin before ruining an engine.
Just saying. He has connections to all these people yet goes and buys mystery lifters.
My dad worked for a big auto manufacturer and I can tell you right now he would have had them pulled out of the assembly room. And he didn't have all these connections. That story sounds like bullshit to me.
The more important people a person claims to know the more the odds are that they are full of ****.

Something like this REALLY SUCKS!!! I'd love for Jegs to step up to the plate here. I'd also love to see the receipt showing they were indeed purchased from/at Jegs. Its hard to identify some lifter brands, especially OEM. I have an LS7, and ordered 16 new lifters from Jegs in 2020. When I got them, they were all thrown together in a big ziploc bag!!! NOT too cool. I packaged them up and returned them. I told the Jegs guy it was BS sending them in an unmarked, unprotected package, so all the bodies and roller wheels could smack against each other as UPS or Fed Ex posed as Tom Brady throwing the boxes around like footballs with no timeouts left!! I then called Summit, and they told me the bulk shipment ziplocs are the way GM/Delphi ships now. He told me theyve raised Hell with GMParts, but it's not going to change. Still, what are you really getting in that bag?? I accepted my "supposedly genuine" GM LS7 lifters. I mic'd the bodies for nicks and size, and rolled the roller wheels, and all checked good. 10,000 miles later, and all is well. But it's a half-assed way to do business, with us being the "half" part, and GM the "Assed" part.

This was caused by a bad lifter tray. If it's a new build it probably had generic lifter trays. Summit sold me generic trays 2 years ago in a kit with lifters, The trays weren't GM and the lifters were Eaton type, not GM BRAND.
Genuine GM lifter trays have ribs all the way around the pushrod hole, not just on one side like this one. .
These are GM if you can see them. (this is during tear down)

So the lifters are sloppy in the trays and the lifters turn ??

A: the same height above the tray bottom?
B: the same thickness as OEM?
C: the same quality plastic?
If anyone is running GM, or GM style lifters, they should be running GM trays.

3,250lbs w/1/2 tank of fuel on certified scale. It's an A4 vert. 124mph traps, and cant apply full throttle until 75mph. This is on 285/40/18 non DR tires. With good tires, probably 128mph+ trap. Over 2 second 60ft. Ive had a lot of experience on the strips, but this is the only vehicle Ive ever owned that truly needs slicks or DRs.
