Default Trick flow 260 Ls7 porting recommendation

Well the 454 Lsx in the truck I just bought has some issues and 3 of my cylinders have low compression due to leaking valves and a valve seal that popped off. That being said Im going to take this opportunity and have the heads and holley high rise ported and port matched, and a solid roller setup from cam motion.

Alot of people use Tony Mammo but usually send him composite intake manifolds to port instead of aluminum, and ive seen alot of the top dogs around here steer people away from him so im looking for other options. Can anyone recommend a shop that they would trust?

Im gonna start a thread after I get it taken apart and will uodate when I get it put back together and onto a dyno. The engine is a mix match of parts and dyno’d 530rwhp through a 4l80e and dana 60 rear end. I think I can get alot more out of it than that but we will see!

Call Tony and talk with him. He will give you the ins and outs of what it takes to make power in a N/A application. I’m not sure who your referring to concerning “top dogs” around here. Top dog around here power wise is a moderator, goes by John B. He makes 707 with GM castings. Very impressive. Behind John is another Moderator DarthV8r who makes 692 with Tonys heads. Lots of other guys here that make big numbers with Tony’s heads. The few people that have a problem with Tony had an issue or issues that wasn’t related to Tonys work. Tony doesn’t manufacture valves for instance, and valves break from time to time. Not Tony’s fault and no, he won’t buy you a new engine if you drop a valve at 7k rpm. And neither will any other shop. Stuff happens. But what you will get with Tony is an optimized setup that will outperform many other more expensive setups. Don’t write a shop off because a couple guys on a forum don’t like someone. Corvette Forum is stuffed full of guys who have made or are making huge power with Tonys heads. There’s always 2 sides to every story. Call Tony. You’ll be glad you did.
I have Tonys complete top end on my Chevelle build, and it’s stout. I have some understanding of what it takes to make power with a N/A package. I was with a small R&D facility in the early 90’s that did a ton of work for Cup teams back when Cup teams farmed out their work. There wasn’t a lot of in-house engine shops back then. We were contracted by teams to find them power and we always came through. We had a NASCAR record set in September 1991 with Harry Gant that stood until some guy named Jimmy Johnson beat it. I still have a good many friends in the sport that I talk to regularly. I consider the Elliot’s friends of mine and my electrical contracting company (how I pay my bills) wired Chase Elliot’s home over here. I said all of this to say that I’m very familiar with guys in the world of horsepower and the costs and problems that come with making power. It’s not an easy business, to say the least. I still build engines these days for friends and do my own stuff obviously.

Tony has a great track record around here, and to me at least, the ones steering folks elsewhere must think they know more than he does.
His very apparent success rate would indicate he is on the right track.

Personally, I'd never eliminate Tony from any discussion of high performance heads. If theres anyone on the planet who knows more about port airflow, I haven't heard of him. Tony also thinks much like Jerry Branch, who was the "Tony" before Tony. That is, he won't trade volume for velocity. My .02.
