It does indeed. But that data page also says that the LS7 has piston squirters…which the LS7 does not have.
I’ve said this on Tech a couple times in the past, and I’ll repeat it again…I love Summit Racing and I buy a LOT of parts from them. Pricing AND shipping can’t be beat…BUT…the data listed on their Help Center pages isn’t always correct. I never trust their data on their Help Center pages. I’m only posting this for the novice guys out there who may be utilizing the Help Center pages as gospel. Always double check info across a few sites when looking for info. GNX7 knows I’m not speaking of him as a novice, btw…

 

I agree. I've seen factory, OEM LS7 blocks listed as having piston squirters on several different company info pages. Also seen it listed as having a cast crank, which it does not. It is forged. If an LS7 has squirters, they were custom installed by the builder.......

 

My machine shop tapped and screwed in plugs when they put the short block together. I put the rest of the motor together this week and dropping her in today. Thanks for the help guys

 

how much for one of your blocks? I have a ls7 with a internal water leak. Ran fine other than that.

 

if you end up in a position where you must need to weld an LS7 block, source yourself some 4145 rod instead of the 4043 normally used on cast aluminum.

 

Doug, I've have good luck with 4943 filler wire as well. 4943 doesn't require base metal dilution to achieve it's strength like 4043 does.
