I have small bore LS7 heads with 2.10/1.55 titanium valves on a standard bore 6.0 with a 243/250 .660 comp hyd, 30 degrees overlap. JE pistons with gen4 rods. I used a stock LS7 intake/102tb on it to get it going and was planning on a CID/4500tb intake afterwards

Been too busy with other things since these vids, but it's wild. Feels like it's boosted versus any other n/a LS i've had. Shift it at 8k. Car needs suspension upgrading before anything else

IIRC you have the heads that come up on E-bay every once in awhile (a-1performancewarehouse), right? They are a from an endurance racing program or something of that nature right. Just need to use a specific Jesel or T&D roller rocker. I thought I had read through you experience with them either here or over on Yellowbullet.

Correct. Those heads were custom designed for the ECR 5.5 liter Daytona Prototype builds. There are a few more sets out there, but if you don’t get the rockers with them, don’t bother. The custom valvetrain will cost you big time to have made.

While I haven’t run small bore ls7 stuff I have actually run Sean’s br7 ported ls7 heads on my z06 I recently sold. They needed set up and something with the valves needed tweaked. Don’t remember what but luckily I had a machine shop go through them. He stuff flows great numbers and performs well. It really is top notch and he’s a hidden gem among machinists. Not many people have heard of him. I would recommend his products to anyone.

anyway. What are you driving now? I remember you from 10 years ago on ls1gto before my car got killed by another driver.

Yes that's them. They worked out well. A few things needed figuring out but nothing major. I found that all the threaded holes in them (other than for the intake) are imperial, not metric like all LS's. Even my proform tall valve covers just cleared the T&D rockers without modification, i literally had to push them upwards while tightening them down.so they don't touch the rockers as they can shift around a little but i had to use custom studs for the valve covers also not the ones they come with. And the steam vent holes were also different to typical LS. I think they were some hydraulic fitting size from memory, then i fitted AN hose fittings to them. Little things but they are basically LS7 architecture but the PDF on the 24hr daytona cars also says both intake and exhaust valves are splayed 5 degrees. So yeah you need the specific rockers made. T&D can make them. Will probably be $2500 just for the rockers i'd assume maybe more idk

I'm curious on what needed to be tweaked with the valves.

I'm still driving my GTO. I haven't really felt a need to swap it for something else. I find that tweaking the setup keeps things fresh for me.

I got scared of the platform. One accident and totaled. Lack of parts was a big deal. I do miss it though. Glad you’re still going strong. I’ve become more active in the truck game. I’ll eventually buy another c6 Z06 after my back is fixed.
