Default G8 headers on 5.3?

Hi I have a 2008 Tahoe LTZ. Engine getting up their roughly 240k km. I recently pulled a 2012 5.3 from a suburban with around 100k. I plan on swapping a BTR cam with DoD delete.

my next question is I have access to a 6.0 g8 GT kook shorty headers for a stupid price.(about 200$) My mechanic says they’ll fit but I’m unsure about spacing/cross member. Do you think they’re worth buying and modifying if need be to fit? Or am I wasting my time and should take a look at some pacesetters/JBA/etc..

Shorty headers are 100% worthless for increased power on ANY LS engine. Period. Don't waste $200, you're better off with stock manifolds. If you want headers, get long tubes.

Let me amend the shorty header story here- shorties are for when there is no stock manifold that will fit in the application at hand. Being made from tubing does allow for smoother flow, but as said, no real power advantage to be had. They're there for fitment issues, not power. They do look cooler than vast manifolds, though.....

Dont do it, speed engineering has a set of longtubes for $320 . These will likely fit your setup too https://speed-engineering.com/produc...a40c42e4&_ss=r
