I have access to an offset ground stroker crank that now has 2.00" rod journals vs the stock 2.100" . Are there any long term durability or strength issues in a dedicated bracket car using a trans braked Powerglide ?

What crank is this that’s been ground? I have zero problems with the 2” journal sizing in a N/A application, as long as it’s a 4340 material.

You will have no problems using that crank…I’d have it magnafluxed for cracks/hidden issues. Now…finding a rod to work with that journal diameter and offset stroke length might require patience. Plus balancing the LS7 cranks to work with steel (heavier than Ti) rods can get upwards of $800 due to heavy metal involved. Just throwing it out there for you…

just like Scott said... using that crank with anything but a Ti rod will be super expensive for Mallory to get it in balance. Have you considered the L8T forged crank? It has a different flywheel bolt pattern though.

The crank has already been balanced with Callies 6.125" rods (included) and Gib-Tec pistons (not included) ... I had a new set of 4.125" Mahle's on the shelf that have a compression height of 1.050" for 4.125" stroke . These will come up a little short in the hole but the block is deckable . I bought the package and dropped everything off at the machine shop .
