LY5 Questions Hi all, I have a LY5 for a turbo application. Wanting to know about front accessories. https://performancewholesale.com.au/products/warspeed This is a low-mount alternator-only bracket. I want to run an electric water pump with this and wonder if it'll fit onto an LY5. It would also be sweet to know other options if anyone knows them. Ideally, a low-mount alternator and the factory water pump could work as the turbo will be high-front mounted, have an electric power steering pump, and have no AC. I have never seen/built one of these truck engines as I am in Australia, and it has been imported. Any advice will help; I don't need engine-building advice, just accessory options to clarify. As long as the harmonic balancer is correct for the application, any LS accessory drive fits any LS engine, the only caveat is that you will need to drill one of the holes on the iron block to mount car style accessories. It's pretty simple, however. Just Google it and you'll see what I mean. It looks like the kit comes with two different sets of spacers, but neither will work with the truck balancer. I have a 5th Gen Camaro and the spacing is the same as the truck, and I believe the 5th Gen chassis is the same as a Holden Commodore, but that site says LS3 Y body, which is a Corvette - Unless those designations are different in Oz. As long as you swap the balancer for one that works with that bracket, you should have no issues.
