Default AFM Lifter Replacement-Ticking Noise

Just replaced all the lifters on both driver and passenger side. Had a AFM lifter fail, the cam looked fine upon inspection, figured while i had the heads off I would lap the vales and replace the valve seals. Bolted everything back up, fires right up runs smooth and no check engine lights, good oil pressure. However there is a ticking coming from the passenger side(drivers side is quite as ever), I assumed that I didn't get the rockers torqued correctly, but when I ran the motor with valved cover off, none of the rockers were loose and were all actuating. I'm having a hard time finding the ticking, it seemed that after 5 or so minutes the noise started to quiet down but was still present. Could it be that everything need to just be run and have a chance to get warm and marry up sort of speak? I would just hate to run it around and run the risk of causing further damage. Any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes they will get aerated oil through them and after 15-30 minutes running or once you shut it off it'll clear up. I've also had bad brand new ones too right outta the gm box.

Ive never had a tick "go away"
Unfortunately bad lifters are getting more and more common.
Also did you put AFM lifters back in, or did you do an AFM delete?

An AFM camshaft has a specific profile that’s designed for the 8 AFM lifters riding on it. You can’t put std lifters back on the AFM cam and expect it to be correct…at least not for long. You’ll need to change camshafts unfortunately.
And as said above, lifters are crap these days.

How close did you inspect the lobe that had the bad lifter?

It did clear up after about 15 min. of run time, Finally found part of the problem was I didn't get one of the bolts on the exhaust manifold collector tightened up all the way and was causing a exhaust leak. Running smooth as silk, fingers crossed it stays that way lol.
