It will be just fine. Those oil galleys lead towards the bottom of the AFM DOD lifters.

That hole goes to the lifter bore. If the plug your using protrudes into the lifter bore any at all, you’ll be rebuilding after startup. What plug are you using?

Thats what I was thinking when I read this the night before but I have never personally plugged off the towers so I couldn't be certain. If the other towers are plugged I would suggest attempting to get it out with the valley cover removed and cranking oil pressure to push it out. I am assuming the engine is installed still but if it's not you can attach the starter and crank it with a 12 volt battery or use a heavy duty drill on the harmonic balancer Bolt. All the lifters have to be in there bores and you have to find a way to temporarily plug the oil pressure sensor feed hole in order for this to work. Hopefully he didn't send it yet

Let's see, he was tapping threads into the towers to put threaded plugs in is how I read it. That would mean the threaded piece is larger than the oil port, and would definitely be wedged somewhere in the tower. With constant oil pressure pushing it upward, if it did dislodge it would go back up the tower and up against a threaded plug. If you notice those oil ports, they are larger or they come out of the top of the tower, than where they enter the lifter bore. So it's basically got nowhere to go.

The towers have to be drilled to a 21/64 hole and then tapped for 1/8” pipe. I do a lot of these. There’s no way the pipe plug can fall down the hole. I’d guess he was using a rivet style plug here of some sort.
