Ripms
Just bench racing my new motor in my head while having some fresh orange juice.
Cars not ready for the dyno so im just guestimating things at the moment.
So my motors a 2016 LS (lc8) block
Dart 4in billet 8ccw crank
Rods are 6.125 300m IBeams
Bore is 4.005 with wiseco 2168 pistons
Btr 234/239 115.5 .618 cam
Btr v2 shaft mount trunion rockers.
Cnc 823 heads with stainless valves
Oh and a Single 98mm billet t6 turbo set-up.
A couple of things I've wondered as this will be my first big dollar build.
1- what kind of rpm would most spin this thing to. Ive had head an cammed ls motors but nothing with a crank or shaft rocker like this. I've had guys say 7000-7500 some say 8000+, I know my limiting factor in this motor is the actual block itself. So what's everyone's thoughts on rpm.
Obviously if the power falls off at 7200rpm then that's it. But if it's still climbing how far can I go?
2- at what level of power should I really look at getting the credit card out and going for an aftermarket block.
My end goal is the 1000rwhp area, but im only human unno how it is lol
If im pushing 1300hp at the flywheel to make my rwhp goal how long are these gen 4 iron blocks living for?
Cars intended use will be the weekend cruiser and matbe some roll racing and a few (alot of) cheeky powerskids lol
Anyway just thinking aloud.
Motor is already done just want to kinda see how hard it can start pushing once it's in.
