Default Brawler heads/springs for L9H?

Looking at TSP brawler heads with PAC .660 springs.

My cam is .553 lift. Is this "too much" spring/pressure for my cam with Johnson 2126 lifters, 3/8 pushrods and BTR shaft rocker system?

No. For all practical purposes, there's no such thing as "too much" spring/pressure.

This on the other hand, seems a bit over the top. Somewhat of overkill. Calculate the max pressure those springs will exert on that other stuff, compare it to ... stock... , and you'll see what I mean.

I would say your reasoning is reversed. No such thing as too big of a pushrod diameter. You can have too much spring on a hydraulic lifter, but the .660's springs will not be too much.

OP I would suggest a beehive for this setup. A PAC-1218 would be enough spring for this. If your heart is set on a dual, either the .660" from Texas or a PAC-1904.

Unfortunately I'm at this juncture due to a 1218 or 1219, don't remember which for certain, that broke and dropped a valve. Found the stem in the intake port, so I'm guessing the head is trashed too. Praying the piston and block are good.

I did buy 1218X springs before starting teardown, but if I'm buying heads I kind of like the added security of doubles after this debacle. Brand new forged short block, heads/springs only had 7k miles on them prior to being reinstalled and failing after about 200 miles....Still breaking in- Never made it over 3k rpm with the new short block.

Definitely replacing heads. And a piston..... Just pulled the cylinder head. Mahle 4032 forged took it like a champ I guess.
