LSA only has a forged crank and lower compression.

LS3 is plenty stout to handle a LSA blower. Who tuned it?

The lower compression of the LSA allows more boost and resistance to detonation. It's my humble opinion that a boosted, stock internals LS3 will never make quite as much power as the LSA. At least, as much reliable hp. I think you're playing with fire running much boost on any 10.5:1 static squeeze engine. Keyword is definition of "much.".....

LSA tune has very low timing in those areas.
If this is a stick shift car, that amplifies the issue.

Those rods can bend without you knowing it. Once they bend to a certain extent, the pistons **** in the bore and the skirts break. Then you know it!

Guys think the knock sensors will save ya. But the knock retard you see in a log file is just the response of the ecu. The knock has already happened…..
Absolutely true! The KR sensors are reactionary. By the time the sensors react the damage is done. They may save a stock, 350hp, 10:1 compression engine. An 11:1, 550hp engine, not so much. A good tuner is always important, but a really good tuner is an absolutely essential part of a boosted build.

Actually, the CT 525hp LS3 comes from GM with forged pistons made by Mahle. I think Mahle makes most of the GM pistons. Odd thinking that the CT 525hp LS3 comes with forged pistons, but the 550hp LSA has cast pistons. Unusual thinking by GM...... Well, maybe not!!!!! See the thread below......
