LS3 CT525 Forged Piston

Anyone have any experience with these? I have a chance to get a new set cheap. How much power are they good for? I mean stock ls3 slugs hold big power so they must be better? Looking to build a spare boosted engine.

I don’t think there’s a difference? I believe all that GM does for the 525 LS3 is change the camshaft. Looks like an OEM LS3 slug to me…

It's a forged slug made by Mahle.

You are correct, I looked them up. I wasn’t aware that GM changed the pistons in that crate engine…learn something new everyday. Mahle makes a lot of GM pistons fwiw, but these being forged you will have a more robust piston. Make sure you get rings with the deal…a lot of sets don’t come with rings.
