![Question](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I could have sworn I read somewhere that the LS2 will be a DOD motor, but now I can't confirm that. Maybe it was only for the trucks that will use the LS2?
I guess what I'm asking is, will the LS2 in the '05 GTO be DOD or not? Can anyone confirm one way or the other yet? I certianly hope not, seems to me that cylinder shutdown will do nothing but complicate the motor/tuning, and give the car a really odd exahust note when half of those cylinders shut down.
I'd rather give back the extra fuel mileage and keep all 8 cylinders running all the time.
Sorry if the answer has already been posted here, but I just can't seem to find it.

The ls2 does not have DOD this year. The engine is a gen IV though and will have it eventually. Oh and by the way the only time you'll ever notice that you have DOD is when you fill up. DOD works so fast that you'll never know when it switches from V4 mode to V8.
