Right. But other than the location of the reluctor wheel the cams are the same. That is the great news here. That we can use all of our existing cam research with the LS1/LS6 with the LS2.
When did the LSx series motors start using a reluctor wheel for the cam position? All of the LS1 cams I had only have two "flags" on them. One flag is shifted slightly over the other, giving the sensor the ability to know what portion of the cam is where. With the cam position learn, the PCM runs off of the data using just the flag and learn position. I am betting the LS1/LS6 cams fit fine in the LS2, but you will have to figure out what GM is using on the LS2 for cam position(reluctor versus just a flag, I am betting a flag as the sensor appears similar to the LS1/LS6).
Lou from LGM said something about waiting for new blanks before they could do H/C on their C6. I would assume that means the new blanks have the flags on them in the new position, but I'm not sure anyone has checked for sure.
