75k is outrageous if its not sporting a 7.0L pushin about 525+ out IMO. The one reason the Z06 was so successful was the fact that it could give the 70k+ car crowd a run and still be economical (altho you may argue ~52k isnt economical, but for what it is, I think its a steal).

There was a rendering on SVTperformance that was just horrid. Looked like it had way too much of a euro feel to it. That to me just looks like a refined C6 which is exactly what the next gen Z should be.

I agree. Dave Hill has made the comment that this new ZO6 will be more extreme with respect to the C6 than the C5 ZO6 was to the C5, so I can see some further price separation. However, I fully believe that he intends to keep the ZO6 being one of the best bang-for-the-buck performance cars out there. With that in mind, to justify a $75k price IMO, it HAS to have at a minimum the 427, sub-3000lb weight, and some serious track capability (e.g. suspension, brakes, etc). All that plus the factory warranty you don't get when modding would make a strong case for the $$.

Personally, I'd love to see them lose the nav system, lose the OnStar, lose the standard "bluehair" Corvette fluff options, but keep that above-mentioned performance, and sell it for around $60k. That would be awesome IMO and I'd be in line for a black one come '07

The rear bumper is still covered in that pic. I want to see what that looks like.

Me too Fulton. I agree 100%. Altho I dont mind those options, Im glad they did make them options for the most part, and not 100% standard equip. And I'd still be in line for an 02 Z when the time came, just cause i'd be finished w/ college and I could get one for cheap lol.

That looks awesome. Definitely a more aggressive looking Vette. Maybe it'll be as aggressive as the WS6 and SS are to the regular Firebird/Camaro.

I'm almost 100% it will be a targa body style but no actual targa. It will have a fixed roof.

I think targa, or targa style would be shitty. I like the coupes with the small back window, like the 01-04 Z06. $75K would also be shitty.

i agree, i think it should be a coup, stronger structuraly, also more of a race car.
keep the targa top for the base c6.
