When you change the oil, when do you check the level.

Immediately

or

Run the car and check it

or

run the car, let it sit for a few minutes and then check

I should really know this, but I always forget

 

It will be close enough regardless of how you check it

 

I stick with the latter 2

 

Just fill the oil filter up before you put it on. Thats really the only place that would change your level as long as you fill your pan back up

 

Run the car. Let it sit at least 5 minutes. Check it.

 

Yep, look for leaks around drain plug and filter after you run it.

 

make sure u let it run long enough for the oil pressure to build up and then shut it off, you should beable to walk to the front of the car then and check the oil. unless u have crud in the engine and its not draining back down well it will read right after sitting for about 30 sec
