Motor Trend Exposes the 500-HP Z06
I think this hit the magazine shelves a little early... I scanned and posted the entire article on my webpage in the magazine section @ www.avigdor.net ...

The 500 hp z06 has been out of the bag for a while. The 500 hp gts makes me smile though. Looks like the z06 will be able to take the viper boys in every performance way.

I wouldn't exactly call the GTO table scraps either. For the low 30's it performs pretty damn well I think. I don't disagree that GM screwed up by not holding a presence in the Mustang GT price range like the F-bodies used to do, but hopefully they'll rectify that soon. What would you think about a 2008-ish "COPO" Camaro with a slightly detuned version of the LS7? Now that would be IMO.

Here we have to save our pennies, while the next Viper should surely waste the vette. Just my opinion, but I bet in a year the Viper will suddenly have a LOT more horsepower. And we will STILL be saving our pennies waiting for the next F-body.
Way to go GM! ....putzes. The normal vette is nice, but my Camaro is a good contender for less money.

that Z06 looks killer. wish i could buy one. well i guess i will just have to settle for a LS7 powered WS6! im surprised to see the Z06 has a hatchback and not a hardtop. the article says it is 22lbs. heavier but it improves areodynamics. cant wait to see one in person!

I was wondering how long it would be before someone mentioned the LS7/ F-body swap, it would make a killer base engine to start with. Better make that LS7/Moser swap 'cause the 10 bolt won't survive !
