Dude, you stored your IROC? If I were you, i'd put the LS7 in that!

Yup I put it away when I bought a house way back in 91.

Then I heard about the LS1 so I bought the 02 SS.

I think I will be selling the 89 IROC in the next year to offset the cost of the LS7 and other mods I'm doing to the 02

The 89 has only 26000KM on it so I should get some good cash for it

I see yours has been sitting for a while too?

Yes C5R heads come unfinished and require work.

My point is that if the LS7 heads flow 360 or 348 or whatever at .600 it will be fine for street use IMO. Any port work will increase the size of the port volume and a few extra CFM at higher lift will not likely benefit any cam most of us will be using on the street. There will likely be much potential for those those willing to run a solid cam and over .700 lift I have no doubt.

I also have no doubt that after a few years of R+D maybe porting shops will be able to improve the mid lift #'s on these heads (maybe unfinished as cast heads will be available from GM?). Till then I will be bolting a set of them on my 427 as I get them from GM since I'm pretty sure they will work quite fine

We have not seen a set of them CNC ported yet.

There is a new truck head coming out that looks killer also.

When is the madness gonna stop. One of these days I want to get a new truck but, if I keep hearing rumors of bigger and better coming I'll end up waiting forever.

That's some good info there. These heads are insane. 600rwhp should be easy. Anyone have a link that shows specs and flow #
s for C5R heads to compare?

Sounds great! I wish you the best of luck with that.

Mines still sitting. It is way overdue for an engine swap. If things with me and work out good, then I just might. : )

I'd be really interested in possibly using a set of LS7 heads in a forced induction application, but I'm kind of concerned with the durability... I mean, that was a weak spot (on BIG power motors) with the factory LSx heads (that is addressed with the AFR's, with the thicker deck), I'm just wondering if it will be a weak spot on the LS7's, too.
