LS2 in a C5?
I am new to this board but was told that it was the place to come for help and advice. Here's the deal, I have an 03 Z06 and I want to build up a motor but I have many questions. I would like to use the SLP LS2 Low Compression short block as a base (here's where the questions start) Does the LS2 bolt into C5s? Also is there anywhere to buy a bare LS2 block because I would like to increase the 402 to 408 cid. In the event that the LS2 posed problems with mounting etc would an Iron LS1 block be a better decision and how much heavier would it end up being than the aluminum motor? If I ended up running a 408 cid motor at 8.5:1 compression (just for an example) what type of heads would be a good choice to run (AFR?? something blower friendly). In addition I was planning on adding a Kenne Bell Blower, is this new blower for the vettes going to be able to feed a 408 cid motor? With the addition of a blower on the 408 what would be a good intake manifold to run (FAST 90mm??) As you can see I have a lot of questions and any advice and/or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys!!!
Since you are at the very beginning of the project, you should do extensive research by using the search function here. You will be amazed how much information will come up. You should make a post in the Forced Induction forum here about the 408/Kenny Belle combo. Those guys should really be able to help out.
