LS7 clutch will not work on LS1/LS6
Well, I am hoping this guy might be wrong but he is a GM engineer at the LS7 plant. Here is his response to my question if the LS1 can be retrofitted with the LS7 clutch:
Nope, sorry. The LS7 clutch is designed specificly for the Z06..

Very interesting. Where did this information come from? A call to the "LS7 plant", an e-mail or a post on a forum? Just curious as others will also want to know the basis for the statement.
Not doubting you but saying "a GM engineer at the LS7 plant" doesn't sound credible. If you said "Joe, the head Engineer of R&D at the Wixom, MI assembly facility" then that lends more credibility. There is too much here-say on the internet and more specifically - forums.

"Hello all. A little background on who I am. I have 28 years with GM, 13 at a factory owned dealership, 13 with GM Truck engeneering and since March, 2005, I have been working in Wixom, Michigan at the Performance Build Center building the LS7 engines. Spike TV came to our shop in May and did a video shoot. I was selected to do the show. It aired on July 9th & 10th on HORSEPOWER! They videoed for over 6 hours but the show of our shop only ran about 5 minutes... We also build the 440 HP supercharged Cadillac Northstar engine. Hope you all have questions, I have most of the answers."
