heads for ls2
heads for ls2 ok ive been doing some searching both here and in the ls1/6 forum. since the ls2 already has ls6 heads on it, i know a mild cam in the 224 range will do well. i also know a ported or aftermarket head will do even better. I was trying to find the Volume of the intake runner for MTIs 2E heads. they flow very similar in numbers to the AFR205s, but if they had to hog them out to get the numbers i would think the 205s would be a much better street head. i know MTI is a good company and has excellent products, but im curious to know the intake volume on the 2e head. also what is anyone elses thoughts on the two. numbers on paper dont always prove which is better. oh one other thing im unsure of, are the 2E heads an LS1 or LS6 casting?
the combination i have in mind is fairly simple. C6 with either AFR 205s or MTI 2Es. small 224 or 228 cam. just want something worth putting in that will still be mild. im sure either one will perfrom very well and have excellent street manners on an Z51 car. Kooks LTs with cats and thats about it. no intake or muffler changes. no gear change either. i think that should easily clear 400rwhp if not be closer to 420 or 430rwhp. thoughts? thanks im having to do some catch up on my ls2 knowledge and info is greatly appreciated.
