It's the "trigger wheel" on the crankshaft and the number is how many teeth are on it.

Like Speartech mentioned above it's the trigger wheel pressed on to the cranshaft itself. The crankshaft position sensor or CKP creates a magneto based field when supplied with a 12 volt source, the reluctor ring breaks that field so the sensor can physically determine the position of the crankshaft.
24X is used for the LS1/LS6 or Gen III PCM systems. 58X is for the LS2 or Gen IV systems which is required for the Gen IV PCM's.
