Default LS2 heads on a 98 LS1

Will Stock LS2 heads fit on a 98 Z28 LS1? How much HP will I gain from the stock LS2 heads on my 98 LS1? I heard the LS2 heads are the LS6 243castings, right. Is it worth it? How about port and polish the LS2 heads?

Yes they will fit no problem. The LS2 heads are 02-04 LS6 heads without the lightweight valves. Ported LS6 heads are a great way to increase the power. Real LS6 heads that are ported tend to be spendy and most vendors require real LS6 heads as an exchange. If you already have a set I would get them ported.

did that a little while ago, stock 243's. real nice gains all the way through with lots of mid range. stock 243's go pretty cheap and are well worth it in my opinion. everyone will say why not get them ported? but i know what it's like to be on a tight budget, and this will keep you from spending over 1k and not braking the bank.

LS2 heads are the same as the 01 Z.
