Question on LS2 differences.... I am building a '69 vette and was planning on running an LS engine. I have an opportunity to get an LS2 that came out of a Chevy SSR truck and seems to be a good deal. The only problem I have is that it looks like the intake is taller and the alternator is on top of the engine more than on a Corvette LS2.
Are these the only differences? The SSR LS2 puts out a respectable 405HP. Can I just swap out the intake with a Corvette intake and get a new alternator bracket and have basically a Corvette LS2 motor or are there internal differences.
(If the cam is different that's no problem either since I will probably put a beefier cam in this motor).

If you want to run C5 or C6 accessory drive you will need everything... as the truck accessory drive offset is different. And if you plan on running A/C I don't believe any of the truck A/C stuff will line up wit the C5/C6 accessory drive either... let alone if you have the room to run the compressor down low. Like Rick says the waterpump and oil pan are probably different so you will need to determine which oil pan will fit best for you.
