Default TR224 or similar on an LS2?

I'm looking for a mild cam to hold me over until tuning becomes available for my 2006 C6. When tuning is available, I plan to go FI, probably Vortech or Procharger (but I'm keeping my eye on the APS Twin-Turbo kit as well).

My question is whether I can get away without tuning with a TR224, 114LSA. People say you are OK without tuning with that cam on an LS1, so I'm thinking the extra cubes will make it even more safe. I would want to be able to get on it and all - not just drive it like a granny until I can get a real tune. Am I going to get codes, stalling, or will it be unsafe to drive on stock PCM?

Any feedback?

Thanks

the extra cubes will suck up more cam so you SHOULD be ok if you have an M6.. if you have a A4 you will most likely need tuning.

But, why spend the $$$ for a "for now" cam instead of just getting the cam you want in the first place? (or sticking with the stock stick)

Because there's no tuning for 2006 LS2s yet

I can't get what I want until tuning is available, but I want more than bolt-ons are giving me...

The tuning is availbel for LS2 engines..you will need some tuning with that cam with an automatic transmission..I would go a little bigger since you are going to need tuning anyway..maybe a 228 duration cam with a 114 LSA would make a little more power and still have good manners for the street...
