Default LS series interchangeability

Tried to look this up in the search but i guess the search is still broken.

I wanted to know is it possible to bolt on the ls2 heads to ls1/ls6 series blocks?

How about the LS7 cylinder head bolting on to the LS1/LS6/LS2?

I know this probably has been asked before but I just can't find it.

LS2 heads are actually LS6 heads without the lightweight valves, so yes they will bolt right up.

LS7 heads are designed for a 4.125 bore, different valve angles and have raised intake runners, so they won't work on a Gen III block.

Good thread... I'm going to steal it for a bit

Does anyone know if the following is possible???
I'd like to get the LS2 block and use my LPE GT2-3 cam in it, my LS6 intake manifold, and my ported LS1 heads. So basically, I just want the 402 ci displacement, and whatever forged internals are out there for the LS2.

Thanks!

edit: I'm pretty sure about everything except the cam....
edit2: nevermind I found my answer: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....76&postcount=3

The LS1, LS2, LS6 and LS7 heads all have the same head bolt layout.
Valve spacing in the LS7 heads is different than the LS1, LS2 and LS6.

Hope this helps.
