Quick stupid balancer question!!!!! Guys I was about to put on my powerbond balancer ...which looks very nice i might add.... this thing has a keyway slot but our engines dont have a keyway . Its supposed to be a press fit type thing . so anyway i can't get this thing on . it is so tight and i cant get the bolt in far enough to PULL it on . I reallt dont want to PULL it on.
anyone have any tricks . heat up the flange of the ballancer and then maybe it might slid on somewhat better?

ive heared of quite a few people putting it in the oven and baking it to help it slide on a little easier. Also, instead of using the bolt to pull it on, you may want to look into a pice of all thread rod, with a washer, and nut. This will be a lot safer, because you have a lot more threads on the crank to start with.

Should never use the bolt to pull on a balancer.. Always use the correct tool, or like posted above, a piece of threaded rod and washer.. I made one and put a bearing behind the washer to cut down on the friction. Works well.
Using a bolt will put way too much stress on the crank threads. Especially if you can only grab a couple threads. Whatever you do, NEVER try and hammer the pulley on..
