Question World LS7X Heads on 346/383?

Will it be possibe to get a set of these heads in a small bore set up to go onto a 346 or 383? Reason why i'm asking is that it would be much cheaper to get a set of these heads and an ls7 intake than it would be with a comparable set of ls1 heads with a fast 90/90. Or am i crazy and this wouldn't be a good idea or wouldn't work? Thanks

Even if the valves clear the bores, they will certainly be very shrouded. Also, probably to much head for most 346 applications with their C5R ports and big cc runners.

Thanks for the info. I guess im probably just better off getting a set of AFR's and a Fast 90/90 when the time comes then.

Would they even be to much for 383? What i really want to do is use them on a 383 and then build another engine for a turbo or redo the 383 for boost. So wouldn't a turbo and/or a 383 be able to take advantage of the heads?

that would depend mostly on other variables, not just displacement...
ive never heard of anyone running any LS7/L92 style head on a smallbore block.. and i dont THINK it'll clear at all, but ive never actually measured, nor ive i read where anyone else measured.

98 Z28,
I'm not sure what the bore sizes are on the 346 and 383 combinations, but we do not recommend a bore smaller than 4.00" with our LS7X heads. The valve sizes are 2.200" x 1.625".

Thanks for all the info guys. The bore on the 383 would be just under 4. It's not to big of a problem right now i still have to figure everything else out before i even start thinking about building it.

I was also under the impression that the ls7 intake won't bolt up to the ls1/ls2 block?

None of the intakes bolt to the block, they bolt to the heads. The LS7 has to be matched to LS7 style heads, which will bolt up to LS1/2 blocks.

My point was, even if they DO clear, the valves will be so shrouded that it's a poor idea anyway.
