Question New LS2 Owner

Hi I am new to owning an LS2 (Cadillac 06 CTS-v). I have done some research and I know that the LS1 LS2 and LS6 are pretty similar in design and that a lot of the parts are interchangeable. But I still don’t really understand it, what can you use performance wise can I use a cam designed for an LS1 or LS6 and put it in my LS2? Or even performance cylinder heads are they interchangeable. I have noticed that you really can find too much that says it’s for an LS2. What’s the deal with this? Can someone please explain to me how all this works?

Congrats on the new car. What color is it?

Besides the block and certain parts like the valley cover, lifter trays, front timing cover, timing chain and sprocket, almost all LS1 and LS6 parts will work on a LS2. In fact the stock OEM LS2 cylinder heads are actually LS6 heads (without the lightweight valves) and the cam is actually a 01 LS6 cam minus the reluctor ring. The popular aftermarket intake; FAST 90mm will work as well.
