Default ls1 headers on ls2?

I am building an LS1 FD, I have already purchased JTR headers for an ls1 and have yet to purchase my engine. I am thinking about getting an ls2 so I wondered if the bolt pattern and path of the headers is similar between the ls1 and 2.

Yes it'll work. Since your headers acutally bolt to the cylinder heads, the block makes no difference. I'm assuming you're going to use your current LS1 heads... even if you went with aftermarket heads it won't matter. Just don't go any buy Mustang heads or something crazy. Just search around for LS2 compatible parts. You'll see.

The headers should work since the LS2 heads are the ZO6 heads. Difference being a different port design (D vs O) I hope this helps.

The LS2 and LS6 have the EXACT same casting number (243) on the heads...the ONLY difference in the heads (between a set originally on an LS2 and a set originally on an LS6) is the valves they come with. LS2's didn't get the hollow intake/sodium filled exhaust valves that the LS6 got. Identical ports, chambers and bolt patterns though (they came out of the same mold). Deck height and motor mount location is the same too, so the headers will fit no problem at all.
