Default LS2 MAF Descreen?

Im wondering weather or not to descreen my MAF on my 06 LS2 GTO. Anyone have any problems doing this? Did you feel any gains? Would it make the car hard to tune?

Definitely don't touch the MAF. If you lose a race by a headlight, at least you know your car isn't molested.

some people have had issues .. especially at idle and with aftermarket intakes due to de-screening

Leave the screen! One of the purposes of the screen is to straighten out the air flow through the MAF. When you remove it air actually goes by the wire and is not measured. This means that more air is entering the motor then is being measured. The MAF is critical for the PCM to determine load and therefore determine fuel and timing.

I have had more customers show up with surging and detonation problems that ended up being related to the screen being removed. The LS2 is even more sensitive.
