Default TEA stage 3 AFRs on a LS2 402

Anyone using the TEA stage 3 AFRs on their LS2 402? If so, what do you think about them? My builder recommended these and I haven't seen anyone else running them. The motor will have a custom grind put in it that is similar to the Texas Giant. I don't have exact specs on the cam yet. My goal is to get 500+rwhp out of the car.

The heads should be fine but their volume will affect piston choice and CR.

Check out DCR carefully.

I don't know a lot about building engines. That's why I'm having someone very reputable build the car for me.

Very nice numbers. I only hope I can get close to that. What cam are you running? Are you also using the Fast 90/90? I'll be using the LS6 w/ ported throttle body for a while until I can afford something better. I've also been thinking about running an LS2 intake with a 90mm TB. Wouldn't that be similar the the Fast 90/90?

My cam is 248/254 on a 110 LSA. I have a FAST90/NW90 setup. The LS2 intake is comparible to the FAST 90.

I did a set of TEA Stg 3 AFR's on a 427/4L60e C5 and it makes one unbelievable torque/hp curve.....one of the flattest curves ive seen and makes great power from 3k rpm up. Also TEA did their nitrous exhaust port for it and it puts every bit of 850 rwhp down on the 300 pills...approx 525 rwhp through the auto n/a.

TEA does a killer job with their port work... for the money I dont see why you wouldnt go with a ported head instead out of the box. It was about $500 more than a stock pair of afr 225's..and worth every penny.

For the money TEA Stg 3 darts will make just as much power just on a different casting. Its the same port design, flows as well and costs ALOT less...thats probably your best deal for the money on a radical head like that.

That makes me feel better about dropping that much coin for a set then. I figured I'd do the engine right the first time and not worry about changing set-ups later.

I guess I'll be happy with everything if I can run low 11s on motor. Think that's possible with that motor? One of my buddies said I will probably be in the 10s with some good traction.

the out of the box AFR 225's are more then sufficient to support the power you are looking at. IMO i'd opt for the 225's from one of the sponsors and used the ~700 dollars saved over the TEA port work and put that toward a FAST 90.

Should be no problem to run deep in the 11's or high 10's with a 402. Have you seen our new LS-2 style trick flow head? It flows as well or better than any of the 225cc runner heads that we've seen in our shop, and is less expensive than our stage 3 AFR heads. We also have castings instock on the shelf turnaround is about 4-6 working days.

Actually the stage 3 TEA Dart heads (same CNC port as their AFR stg 3 casting) is the same price as a set of 225 AFR head...
