Default What extra is needed to go LS1 to LS2 ?

I have a 1993 RX7 with an LS1 engine in it totally stock. What will I need to swap in a LS2 ? The car is setup with the same mounting points and ecu as a 2002 camaro so compare it to that. I would like a commplete list of parts and any fabrication needed and also a store to buy the parts, thanks.

Well Fast has a LS2/LS7 wiring harness.

I was looking at there web site trying to see if they were going to put out a L76/L92 base plate for the LSX and found they offer a wiring kit to retro the LS2/LS7 into older cars.

If you keep your LS1 knock sensors, and relocate the cam timing sensor to the front of the motor most of the conversion stuff you have already done should be able to be used.

Which ever oil pan you used on the LS1, that type should be used on the LS2. Mounts are in the same location (if memory serves correctly).

All of the front mounted accessories should swap over. Exhaust will bolt right up (same heads as the LS6/LS4)... bla bla bla.

What transmission are you RX7 conversion guys using? T56, Richmond 5spd, or the stock RX7's 5spd???

-Eagle crank and rods
-Probe Pistons with 11.2 to 1 compression
-TSP Performance Cam 233.239 on a 112
-225 ETP Hight Performance Heads

Default as the search function doesn't always work here

here is part of your answer....

you will need to check your crank to see which reluctor you have...

if you are using an LS1 PCM/ECM you will need to use the 24x reluctor.....

We sell a complete LS1 to LS2 conversion package. It will come with new front, rear and valley covers. We also sell the harness extensions that will allow you to extend your current knock senser harness to the side of the block and the cam sensor harness to the front cover w/ the cam sensor.
