if using ls2 longblock
The LS6 valley cover has provisions for knock sensors. The LS2 has its knock sensors in the block, so its valley cover is flat. It isn't the same part number. You need a new valley cover specifically for that engine.

OK...so say I'm putting an LS2 in an LS1 GTO/F-body. What needs to be converted or changed?
From what I've already researched, as long as I have the LS6 intake, valley cover,fuel rails, injectors, and throttle body, I'm good to go? True? Everything else plugs in the same?

all you need is the harness from katech and will need the knock sensors from your old motor and relocate them to teh side of teh block
the valley cover for ls2 is different
also need the cam sensor harness, call jayson he will sell u everything you need
or call scroggin dickey they have everything too
