Piecing together an LS2?

Piecing together an LS2? Would it be more cost effective to piece an LS2 together or just buy one out right with everything already there? Like from EBay or somewhere else. I plan on starting this project in a month or two, so any feedback from experience would be greatly appreciated! Also, this is my FIRST LSx attempt.

I am slowly getting my parts together Hey well I have been very lucky at getting my parts slowly gathered. I would start looking in salvage yards for a 6.0 LQ4 or LQ9 the LQ4 has dished pistons and you need the LQ9 or LS2 to get any compression out of them. I found my block for 200 and sold all the ship off of it to pay for the block on ebay.It worked out good. If you look around you can catch some great deal.
