Awd Tbss cam install and tune????
is the cam install gonna be the same as an ls1??????
his truck is awd is he gonna be fine with a mail order tune or what route will he have to go
he will aslo have accompanyings mods....Headers/intake/catback/pulley
we are just trying to get this all sorted out so when we come back from iraq we will know what to do and where to go!!!! Thanks for all the help ahead of time

The only trans failures I have seen have been on the trucks with spray. Only the early trucks at that. There was a heat treat problem in the early 06 trucks that was causing failures, that has been taken care of.
Sean is right though, it is best for piece of mind to keep some upshift TM in. We remove about half on the upshift, but remove it on the launch. I have never seen one of these fail out of the hole (even AWD with a 150 shot) and have tuned over 130 TBSS's.
A cam in the 222-224 duration is good in these trucks with the stock converter.

Vector Motorsports does excellent mail order tunes, if you can not make it down there. You friend might want to look into other mods like air intake, Kooks or SW headers, underdrive pulley, 160 T-stat, and just replace the muffler. These are good supporting mods.
